Getting into beading meant I needed soft leather to bead on. I soon found out it is very difficult to get "brain-tanned" leather. This style of tanning is what a lot of Indian tribes use. I haven't gotten so far as to make leather, as I get the hide to this beautiful rawhide stage and just have to make something with it! Lampshades of rawhide are all hand-scraped from elk and deer hides of utmost quality. Be prepared to enjoy a piece of the real old west in your home or cabin. Limited pieces are available ... e-mail me for prices. As new pieces become available, I will be updating this page. Some custom work is available. I have combined some of my bead skills with some animal products to make some pretty hatbands. I have made some mountain man items such as the possibles bag shown below. The favorite thing I have made so far is my new bedspread...it took 72 rabbit hides (that I bought at Oregon Leather & Tandy Leather). It is very cozy. Enjoy looking at my work and if something strikes your fancy, e-mail me as it may be for sale.
